STRUCTURE AND PRINCIPLE OF THE ELECTROMAGNETIC PUMP SYSTEM
An electromagnetic pump is a device that generates pressure gradient via electromagnetic force through the interaction between magnetic field and current in conductive fluid, so as to drive fluid movement. It is mostly used for pumping liquid metal in practical applications, hence also known as liquid metal electromagnetic pump. It is applied to transmit liquid metal and other conductive liquids in closed pipeline systems. Similar to impeller-driven equipment in function, it differs in force generation mode. According to the left-hand and right-hand rules, current passing through a conductor generates an induced magnetic field, which interacts with molten metal to produce induced current. The interaction between induced current and magnetic field generates electromagnetic thrust, which acts as the motive power for molten metal flow. The core feature of the electromagnetic pump is non-contact power generation without any mechanical moving parts.
